About MonteGatta Farm…

Hello and welcome to the Farm!

I’m Amy. Here on the farm we have seven chickens, three cats, two rabbits and one super cute husband. I’m a full-time software consultant, part-time garden designer, and all-times outdoor lover. My husband also works in high tech. In addition to being outside we enjoy hiking, sports, cooking (ok, really we just love to eat), renovating, and blogging.

Over the years I’ve traveled close to 2 million global miles for work in the information industry. As an information consultant, I am accustomed to performing in-depth research. Helping other people and learning myself in the process has always been a big part of my life.

But with all that traveling, coming home to a sanctuary has been critical, and this organic farm has served as that sanctuary. We believe that food grown without antibiotics, hormones, artificial fertilizers, insecticides, or herbicides is the best path for healthy and energetic living.

Located in the foothills of wine country — halfway between Silicon Valley and the beach — MonteGatta Farm became our forever home about 10 years ago. We have slowly been upgrading, landscaping and building our little farm life here among the 90 year-old prune trees out in the orchard.

There isn’t a room in the house we haven’t completely renovated at least once, and not a garden bed that hasn’t been ripped out and started again from scratch. And we’ve done most of the work ourselves.

At times it seems that things change and grow imperceptibly, and we wanted to document all of the progress we make. Every day I feel like we are learning something new.

Come along and join us on this adventure!
