This super juicy grilled pork tenderloin is ready in under 30 minutes! Pair this easy recipe with some fresh garden vegetables and you have an incredibly easy, healthy meal worthy of a special occasion.
Pork Tenderloin is generally a lean cut of meat. When you sear it on a high heat grill, you lock in the juice and you get an amazing, tender and moist cut of meat. So tender, in fact, it gives steak a run for its money.
Pork tenderloin is an affordable alternative for special occasions. We almost always have one tucked away in the freezer for those times when you need to whip up a special meal for a birthday or surprise visitors but can’t get to the store. They don’t even take up much space in the freezer.
Here’s the method for getting the most juicy tenderloin.
Preparing the Tenderloin
Pork tenderloin will take almost any seasoning you like. We tend to use either a dry rub or a marinade. But recently we’ve been mixing up a Garlic and Dijon mustard mix.
Place the pork tenderloin in a long, shallow bowl. Add the following ingredients to the top of the tenderloin.
- Juice of a half Meyer lemon
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- Minced garlic – one or two cloves
- healthy dose of kosher salt and freshly cracked black pepper
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard. Slather it right onto the tenderloin
Allow the tenderloin to come to room temperature with the salt, lemon and mustard mix on it. After about 15 minutes, you should be ready to grill.
Grilling the Pork Tenderloin
- Set the burners on your grill to high heat. Allow ample time for your grill to come up to temperature – about 500 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Turn down the heat on one side of the grill to low heat.
- Place the tenderloin on the high heat side of the grill. Sear it on all four sides for about a minute to a minute and a half on each side. This works best if you keep the grill lid closed while searing.
- Move the tenderloin to the low heat side of the grill. Grill for 5 minutes on each of the two flatter sides for a total of ten minutes on low heat.
- Slather another tablespoon of Dijon mustard on each side as you turn the meat on the low heat.
- Check your meat with an instant read thermometer – pull the tenderloin from the grill the minute it hits 145 degrees.
- Rest the meat for 5 minutes prior to slicing.
Slice and serve your grilled pork tenderloin with a salad or vegetables for a healthy, lean meal.
Yummy!
