The Yucca is a US Western native plant, found in high desert locales. Beautiful showy flower stalks tower over the main plant up to 6 or 7 feet tall, attracting hummingbirds. Leaves are tough and sword-shaped. Blooms from spring through fall. Extremely tough and resilient, tolerates drought, heat, frost, poor soil, and digging/burrowing. Deer resistant.
Great in large masses, in borders, along fences, and anywhere irrigation is impractical.
