Luffas are very cool to grow – harvest them young for cooking or let them mature to make into sponges and other beauty products. For most growing zones, luffa can be planted indoors and transplanted to your garden after the nighttime temperatures are at 55 – 60 F. Luffa do well when direct sowed for those who have long growing seasons.
